Closer Consultancy X Liverpool City Region

At the beginning of last year it was predicted that 2020 was to bring huge expansion, hundreds of jobs and big investment to Liverpool City Region’s tech sector. However due to COVID-19 many of us are questioning what the future has in store, and what the rest of 2021 is going to bring.

We launched Closer Consultancy in Liverpool during the 2020 lockdown, we recognised a need for a business development and sales consultancy that would disrupt the traditional model and offer business owners a one-stop-shop for brand elevation and new business generation. Being based in Liverpool was a major plus.

Liverpool is now in the top ten places in the UK for tech startup businesses, according to research from the Centre for Entrepreneurs. The increase comes despite uncertainty caused by Brexit and the General Election in December 2019. Entrepreneurs are still coming up with new ideas and being as ambitious as ever.

Closer Consultancy specialises in business development strategies, and bespoke one-on-one business consultancy. We equip individuals and businesses with the tools needed for ROI with growth. Being based in Liverpool as the region has moved into a new era of innovation in the sectors of medtech, edtech, and even media. It’s an exciting time to be in this city and to witness that growth as the months move on through the next year.

Having seen small, tech-oriented businesses play a pivotal role in development of areas like the Baltic Triangle, and the Knowledge Quarter, environments will continue to be created where creativity can flourish.

With the rate of expansion having a significant focus on skills, Liverpool City Region’s tech scene will become a lucrative market for opportunities in 2021. Liverpool is generally bucking the trend of the tech skills shortage, with talent being cited in the report as a key benefit for businesses being based in the Liverpool City region.

A strong pipeline of talent coming out of local colleges and universities, coupled with a thriving and exciting city lifestyle, has been a major attraction for startups and businesses to launch in the city.

The Manchester-Liverpool region has been ranked among the top 10 in a report scoring the world’s emerging start-up ecosystems. The North West region came 9th in the 2020 Global Startup Ecosystem Report by Startup Genome.
